Fun in an A2 gallery!

I thought this "see saw" sculpture at an Ann Arbor Gallery was pretty fun! I wish I would have noted the artist. I liked the idea- super hero like!

Art and Flowers- with Cara, Mary, and Grandma!

Thanks to all who came by to see us at Art and Flowers. We had a great day together. Really enjoyed doing a hometown event and seeing so many of our friends! Thanks to Joan Larsen for organizing the event, and to Van Thorre's Greenhouse for such a beautiful location.

Cara, me, Grandma

Me, Cara, Mary - Grandpa sitting in the background.

Mary and I in the booth.  It took a little longer to set up than it should have. The ground was soft, so we had to put little blocks of wood under the legs. Every time we would get one block in place another would come out! Pam and her family came by and helped us... thanks Pam and fam!

Java N Jazz set up!

Setting up Thursday night...
Mercedes and Mark Hunt- owners of Java N Jazz
Cara and Mercedes looking over a book of designs.

I really like how my Java N Jazz paintings look all in a row :). "Java the Hunt" had a mighty fine eye leveling these on a thumbtack!
As usual, the master hanger is hard at work. Thanks Jamie!
This coffe house is super cute, and oh so cool! I hope to see you there tonight!

tues nite paint nite

Tonight for paint night, it was me, Mary, and Mary Lou - potato soup for dinner- I'm still working on the tree diptych, Mary is working on a motorcyle design, Mary Lou is painting a cow :) American Idol started tonight, so we had fun watching that while we painted. I posted an event invite on fb for our (Cara and I) opening reception Saturday at Ella Sharp Museum. We're really looking forward to it. Cara is also in a recycled art work exhibit at Art634 right now. Lots going on!

Ella Sharp delivery

Farmscape is being delivered to Ella Sharp today or tomorrow morning! Cara and I are both in the Ella Sharp museum exhibit that opens Jan. 16th. We have to deliver our art work today or tomorrow. This is pretty exciting for us! It's really neat to be doing this with my daughter... I hope you can see the show. It will be up through mid March.
Today I wrote an email on "Ellen" inviting Andy-in-the-short-shorts to come to the opening on the 16th. Wouldn't that just make the event so much more wonderful for us to have him there! I even offered to tape him! Now that would make a memorable sculpture!
I think Cara's sculptures would be great for the Ellen show. At the Coldwater art walk some of the guests suggested this to Cara. I think they're right. Her sculptures are so fascinating to people, I think Ellen should get taped!

Head shot of "sisters"

I was just looking through old pictures and thought I would post this one so you could see it. This was at the opening of the Heirloom Love show in Lansing. I'm not sure who took this photo, but it's a neat view of Cara's sculpture "Sisters".

Heirloom Love, mother-daughter art exhibit

Our show is up, and will continue through July 25th.  I love the museum it is in.  It's the Women's Historical Museum and Hall of Fame in Lansing.  It's in a beautiful old home, and it's surrounded by a gorgeous garden.  It is well worth the visit!
